Staying in shape with Angelina Jolie
Gunnar Peterson, Angelina’s personal trainer, also
works with pro-athletes and celebrities, and specialises in functional
training. Jolie’s workout routines are different each day; she prefers working
on each muscle exclusively and therefore believes in circuit training. Circuit
training involves a lot of exercises that tones your arms, legs, hips, chest,
and belly portions. It also helps in strengthening the muscles, thus making
your body more flexible.
Workout
If you want a figure like Jolie’s, it might
need your extra dedication-- because when it comes to her fitness, she’s
ruthless. Tom Raider and Salt were two movies where we got to see
Angelina’s best athletic form.
· Jolie
practices kickboxing in order to strengthen her legs, calf muscles, hips and
knees. It also improves the body’s flexibility. Kickboxing helps boost her
endurance and strength; not to mention, it incredibly helps in burning calories
and losing weight.
· Gunnar
Peterson devised an exercise called the ‘twisted lunges’ for Jolie, when she
had to reduce immense amount of weight, and train her body for action sequences
in ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’.
· Her
exercise routine has to include cardio activity for at least thirty to forty
minutes every day. It includes walking, stair machine, elliptical or other
aerobic activities. After each circuit training, she goes through a high
intensity interval training on the treadmill, where Peterson keeps changing the
slope of the treadmill in order to make it more challenging.
· Angelina
Jolie got an intense training in the field of martial arts, and it not only
makes her body fit and strong, but also enables her to perform difficult, often
dangerous stunts.
· Jolie
attends specialised muscle toning yoga sessions in order to remain in shape and
prevent from the extra calories. Yoga also helps relax and release all the
stress from busy schedules.
The
hush-hush diet
Angelina Jolie’s work requires her to remain
fit and healthy all the time, even if she just has had babies. Exactly due to
this, she must have a strict diet plan, which will keep her in her shapes even
when she misses working out on the treadmill.
· Angelina
chose a diet rich in proteins. She is given foods which have high protein and
low calorie count, so that she doesn’t gain excessive calories.
· She
chose the healthier foods and eliminated the junk. Fresh, green vegetables,
fruits, salads would make up for most of her diet.
· Drinking
plenty of water is the most important tip to remain fresh and healthy. It not
only melts extra fat, but also keeps your
body
hydrated.
